Caribbean Travel Marketplace participants

FIRE BREATHERS, dancers, roving mimes, magicians and carnival costumed playmakers were a signal that Sandals Royal Bahamian had one thing in mind – if you come to our parties, prepare to get on bad.

This intention was not lost on the delegates who had worked hard at the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, Caribbean Travel Marketplace, and had just about enough energy left to let off steam.

On night two of the premier marketing conference in The Bahamas, hosts Sandals Royal Bahamian was forced to move their planned ‘Island Chic’ beach party to their ballroom because of a cold front, warmed its guests with the most incredible music played by a DJ known only as Chello.

Upgrading the entertainment with video walls, DJ Chello – one of Bahamas’ top musicologists, kept the vibe high, commanding party lovers, “nobody leave, nobody go” as she played one hit after another, and had the packed ballroom eating out of her hands.

Using the shades of the ocean, Sandals set the stage for a party scene that had white draping with lighting effects of various patterns; flavoured Hookah lamps at one corner, throw cushions, leather lounge chairs and carnival girls bringing energy to the dance floor, creating the magic the chain is known for.

However, those were not enough, Sandals tapped into a little Bahamian fare with live conch stations, offering shooters, even while giving their guests that Caribbean flair – in recognition of the mixed audience.

An Appleton Rum bar, complemented by a live cigar roller, and a Robert Mondavi wine bar, were among the specialities that made the party extra special.

It can be declared, nobody knows how to throw a party like Sandals does!
