Legend back at one; Rorystonelove set debuts at 22
BOB MARLEY and the Wailers’ Legend is back at number one on the iTunes listing of top 100 reggae albums up to the wee hours of yesterday. It appears twice in the top five as the Remastered iteration holds the top slot and the Deluxe Edition is fifth.
In between are The Vitals 808 EP, Vol II – EP (The Vitals 808) at number two; Take Me Away – EP (Pacific Dub) at number three; and Lost in Paradise (Common Kings) at number four. The Marley clan is keeping the Jamaican presence in the top 10 as Damian’s Welcome to Jamrock is ninth.
Songs from Zion (featuring Kristine Alicia) by Rorystonelove is at the 22nd spot as a new release.
Fortunate Youth’s self-titled set is sixth; the soca various artistes compilation Get Soca 2017 is seventh; Rebelution’s Falling Into Place is eighth; and Set in Stone (Stick Figure) rounds out the top 10.
The rankings’ second double handful begins with A Dollar Short & a Minute Late (London McNamara) at No. 11 and ends with J Boog’s self-titled EP at No. 20. In between, J Boog has another set in that bracket, as Wash House Ting is at number 17. Rebelution also has a pair in Courage to Grow (13) and Peace of Mind (Deluxe) at No. 14. Then there is the gather and two sons as Bob Marley and the Wailers’ Gold is 12th, while the Grammywinning Ziggy Marley (Ziggy Marley) is 15th, and Stephen’s Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life is 16th.
Deep into winter, Summer Anthems by the Common Kings holds the 19th spot.
Alkaline may be having some legal issues, but his New Level Unlocked set is 29th on the iTunes chart, while Christopher Martin’s Big Deal is 30th, and Kartel’s Pon Di Gaza Mi Sey (Remastered) is at No. 31. It is yet another new release from Mr Palmer.
