Sacred Sound separates Marley’s Legends
Lutan Fyah debuts at number nine
THE VERY top of the iTunes chart almost belongs to Bob Marley’s Legend albums, the Remastered version above the Deluxe Edition. Any change as a new set is released and disturbs that order of things tends to be fleeting, as the new set enjoys the surge of popularity briefly.
So once again a new album has disrupted the Tuff Gong’s albums. For the iTunes Top 100 Reggae Albums listing as of just before 1 p.m. yesterday Sacred Space (Iya Terra) is at number two, in between Legend (Remastered) at number one and Legend (Deluxe Edition) at number three.
The top five is completed by For The Lovers (Tenelle) at number four and Lost in Paradise (Common Kings),
Lutan Fyah’s new release, Music Never Dies, is in ninth position. Along with Set in Stone (Stick Figure) it is the only album from the fifth to 10th places that is not by Rebelution. Falling Into Place is at number seven, Courage to Grow is at number eight and Peace of Mind (Deluxe) is at 10.
Current Billboard chart-topper Climb (Queen Ifrica) is at number 15, after a number of long-running albums. The Bonus Track Version of Distant Relatives by Nas and Jr Gong is at number 11. Hot Shot (Shaggy) is at number 12, with Gold (Bob Marley and the Wailers) 13th. Get Soca 2017 is just before Climb, at number 14.
A new set from home, The Soul of Jamaica, is at number 58, with the soca season pulsing, We Muzik, Vol. 8: Soca 2017 Trinidad and Tobago Carnival in the 59th position. The Dancehall Mix Tape, Vol 4 (Mixed by DJ Wayne) is at number 60, while the out of season Total Reggae: Summer Vibes is at number 61,
Beres Hammond’s Can’t Stop a Man is in the number 72 spot, just ahead of Chronixx’s Dread and Terrible.
