- Lester Hinds Gleaner Writer

MARYLAND, United States: A JAMAICAN man living in Maryland killed his two daughters, and critically wounded his wife before turning the gun on himself in an apparent murdersuicide.

Dead are 37-year-old Carlton Goodwin, his four-year-old daughter Laila and her sister, 17-year-old Lashelle.

His 36-year-old wife is battling for life in a Baltimore Hospital where she was airlifted.

According to police reports, shortly after 8 p.m. last Thursday, they went to the home in Waldorf, Maryland, after neighbours reported hearing gunshots coming from the town house in Westdale Court where the family resides.

On arrival, they found the wife outside with multiple gunshot wounds. A search of the house located the body of the four-year-old in an upstairs bedroom. She had died from gunshot wounds. The 17-yearold was found with multiple gunshot wounds in an upstairs bathroom.

She was airlifted to hospital where she died early Friday morning.

The body of Carlton Goodwin was found in the living room with what appeared to be a selfinflicted gunshot wound. A gun was found near his body.

Police theorise that Carlton shot his wife before killing his daughters and then turning the gun on himself.

The police still do not have a motive for the killings but believe that it stemmed from a domestic dispute.
