Christiana Pharmacy’s heir plans to expand on parents’ legacy
“BEING HERE was the whole idea of being a part of the family business as well as to ensure its continuation after my parents’ retirement,” said Christopher Green, heir to Christiana Pharmacy and Book Centre Ltd in Manchester.
As one of three sons of founders Ivan and Veda Green, Christopher has been actively involved in the company as its pharmacist for the past 15 years, where he has grown to treasure the experience.
Moreover, the love for his parents has blossomed into full-fledged admiration after witnessing the day-to-day accomplishments of their hard work, which has brought satisfaction and comfort to customers in and around Christiana town.
“They basically started from scratch with only the vision in mind, and look at what the business has expanded into today! I am very proud of their achievement and their vision to not only build this company, but also the plaza on which it sits,” Christopher said.
Christopher is also appreciative of the overwhelming support from the community throughout the pharmacy’s nearly four decades of operation. He highlighted that despite new competition, the business remains for most shoppers the one-stop-shop for all their pharmaceutical and stationery needs.
HOUSEHOLD NAME
“Christiana Pharmacy and Book Centre Ltd is a household name. We were the first pharmacy in the town, and because of that, we are well known throughout the Christiana area,” Christopher said.
He continued: “We appreciate our customers and all the support they have given us over the years because they didn’t have to come to us, but they chose to conduct their business here. We are really appreciative of it.”
Christopher vows that when he picks up the baton as head of the company, he will honour his parents by continuing their service and honesty. This will be complemented by providing customers with the best shopping experience and a wide selection of desired merchandise in a clean and friendly environment, managed by an exceptional attitude towards service.
“It will be all about going with the times and improving upon what exists, with new developments,” he said.
