to practise conflict resolution, especially during Child Month in May 1995, and set examples for the nation’s children. This call comes from Marjorie Taylor, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, at the official launching of Child Month in Kingston. Rafael Diaz, chairman of Grace Kennedy and Company, launch the month at the Pegasus Hotel. Miss Taylor notes that the theme adopted by the National Child Month Committee, ‘Learn to Talk It Out, Not to Fight It Out’, is timely and relevant, especially for teenagers, considering the high level of violence being reported in the media.

“We tend to hit out, rather than talk things out,” says the junior minister for Health. The National Child Month Committee, head by chairman Mrs Doreen MillardBullock, is now putting the final touches to its calendar of activities to mark the month.
