NCB extends security token deadline

-

ATWO-MONTH extension has been granted to customers who are yet to register their National Commercial Bank (NCB) RSA security tokens. The new deadline is June 5, 2017.

The strategic inclusion of security tokens for online banking furthers the NCB group’s use of trusted technology to improve levels of convenience as well as flexibility in safeguarding against increasing cyber-related threats.

Howard Gordon, senior general manager, group operations and technology division, said that concerns have been heard regarding the implementation of RSA security tokens, and the NCB group is not taking them lightly.

“Our customers have been using various channels of communication to make us aware of the challenges they are facing during this critical transition period. While we must achieve complete migration/adoption, we must also work along with those we serve and balance the issues they face with our own responsibilities,” Gordon said.

Changes of this magnitude will come with some teething pains. But we can assure our customers that they are priority and everything possible is being done to reduce inconveniences and expedite the transition.

TEETHING PAINS

“Changes of this magnitude will come with some teething pains, but we can assure our customers that they are priority, and everything possible is being done to reduce inconveniences and expedite the transition,” he added.

The RSA SecurID solution is used worldwide as a security-improvement feature that provides additional authentication to online banking access. This upgrade promises to reduce exposure to fraud losses, theft and other cyberthreats.

Tokens, which come in hardware or software versions, replace the security questions for changes to Internet banking profiles, including adding a new beneficiary or bill payee and authentication of transactions.

A dedicated phone line and team has been activated to ease the transition process for customers who are yet to complete the registration of their tokens.

Customers can now call 936-4374 between 8:15 a.m. and 5 p.m. or 1-888-622-3477 after 5 p.m. and on weekends with any questions or concerns for assistance with registering the RSA security tokens.
