Rain or shine, wi jammin’
WHILE MANY snuggled in bed enjoying the early-morning showers last Saturday, Jamaican die-hard party people had another idea – they were out at dawn for the Sunnation Sunrise Breakfast Party. Not deterred by rain, they made their way to the Constant Spring Golf Club in St Andrew for the highly anticipated event. Some chose comfort over style and rocked boots, while others struggled with their sandals and the hem of their dresses to make it across mud puddles.
But those who turned up delighted in the eventual rising of the sun and indulged in an array of palatable offerings. From pancakes and Nescafé coffee to Jamaican and continental breakfast options, food lovers were well satisfied. In addition to the tasty options available, there were cocktails from Heineken, Cîroc, and Johnnie Walker.
After filling their stomachs, soca junkies yielded to the pulsating beats of Jamaica’s DJ Lantern and Jazzy R, along with Trinidad and Tobago’s Private Ryan, Nuphoric and Lord Hype, and Barrie Hype.
Then, just when you thought the day couldn’t get any better, Sunnation surprised patrons with Trinidad soca artistes Voice, Sekon Sta, Shal Marshall, Iwer George alongside Barbadian Alison Hinds and Skinny Fabulous. It was a true soca fest as guests gyrated to some of soca’s best. Sunnation Sunrise Breakfast Party was truly unforgettable.
