PERFECT NEIGHBOUR outclassed SUPERLUMINAL by eight lengths, eased close home by jockey Omar Walker in yesterday’s 1820-metre Mark My Word Trophy. The seven-year-old horse scored a facile victory down in class among open allowance horses, taking the fight to SUPERLUMINAL approaching the half-mile before shooting clear three furlongs out.

SUPERLUMINAL, partnered by Robert Halledeen, was no match for two-turn specialist PERFECT NEIGHBOUR, who placed fourth in last November’s grade one Superstakes.

Ridden out by Walker in the straight, 1-5 favourite PERFECT NEIGHBOUR, proved he didn’t belong in the class and won with the champion jockey standing tall in the saddle at the wire.

PERFECT NEIGHBOUR was one of three winners on the 10-race holiday card for Walker, who also won the Labour Day Trophy for DaCosta, booting home evenmoney favourite LITTLE BIG HORN by almost three lengths for the champion trainer.

Walker, a shoo-in for a fifth jockeys’ title, had earlier opened the programme with a runaway win astride Johnny Wilmot’s CHIEF PROSPECT at 1820 metres.

Renaldo McNaughton was the next best jockey on the day, going gate to wire in two races aboard RAISING THE BAR in the second and SEVEN ELEVEN in the 10th.

Racing continues at Caymanas Park on Saturday with the Lotto Classic for the Governor’s Cup at 10 furlongs as the big feature.

DaCosta’s 2000 Guineas winner, FEARLESS SAMURAI, is the ante-post favourite with Walker booked to ride, going up against impressive Jamaica Oaks conqueror, MARLENE MY LOVE.

The 1100-metre Lotto Sprint Trophy co-feature has 11 entries headed by Philip Feanny stablemates CAMPESINO and BUZZ NIGHTMARE at the top of the sale with 57.0 and 55.5 kilos, respectively
