The following events took place on May 25 in the years identified:

as set by Government under the prevailing control regulations are too low to allow beef and dairy farmers to pay the 81¼ per cent interest rate at which the World Bank made its $3.1 million loan available to agriculture, directors of the Jamaica Livestock Association declare. They do so when a pair of representatives from the World Bank attend their monthly meeting to find out why the loan is not being taken up by these sectors of the livestock industry as much as anticipated. Directors after the meeting will not volunteer any information on the state of the loan so far as cattle industry applications go, but quote the World Bank officials as saying “the movement is very slow”. 1975:Errol
Campbell, a teenager, scores the third upset in the Barclays Bank Hard Courts Tennis Championships at Phoenix Avenue, defeating the higher seeded Philbert Palmer four and four. He is now likely to meet the No. 2 seed Richard Thomson in the semi-final. Lorna Telfer, the No. 1 seed, defeats Linda Sarnia fairly comfortably in the semis, 6-3, 6-3 and will face the giant killer Beverley Stephenson in the final. The tall and always considerate Palmer tells the press after his loss, “Errol played very well; his volleys are always on target.”
