Congrats on your 45 years of success
LIFE IS lived in stages of development, and equally, businesses grow and develop over time in stages. They survive based on the tenacity of purpose of the owners and shareholders. It is indeed my pleasure to join in celebrating Lannaman and Morris’s Shipping Company 45th anniversary.
Indeed, 45 years in the shipping industry is no mean achievement. You have grown by leaps and bounds since your inception in 1973. You have become known as one of Jamaica’s best-known and most widely respected shipping agents. Your diversification into maritime group spans activities that include port and terminal management, logistics and supply chain
management and international transport and management consultancy. Doubtless, your longevity and success stories are underpinned by the great attention you pay to details, as well as how you treat your best assets – the 44 members of staff.
It is an amazing feat to represent approximately 70 per cent of the local cruise ship market, as well as being the appointed agent for a number of internationally known carriers and major tramp-type operations.
The work that you have done in managing the Ocho Rios Cruise
Ship Terminal on behalf of the Port Authority of Jamaica, and ,by extension, the Government is remarkable. Lloyds of London has now ranked it in the top 12 cruise ship terminals in this hemisphere.
As minister with responsibility for transport, let me state publicly that your services are well documented and your contribution to Jamaica developing a seamless multi-modal transport sector is much appreciated.
Congratulations and I wish for you 45 more years of expansion and service, that will benefit not just the people of Jamaica, but international trade in the maritime industry. MIKE HENRY Minister of Transport and Mining
