Congratulations on exceptional service

-

TRUTHFULNESS LIFTS the spirit and empowers. And so we come to you today to tell you what many of you already know by virtue of your own experience and conviction. There is a group of people in New Kingston who offer exceptional service to the public – to the importers, the traders, the brokers, the shippers, the carriers, the forwarders, and the cruise ships alike. They call themselves Lannaman & Morris Shipping Ltd, and today they celebrate 45 years of service. We congratulate them on behalf of the Seafreight Group.

In business, it is not uncommon to find that the attention you get from a vendor is directly related to your volume, your activity, your worth to the vendor. It takes moral courage to treat everyone, no matter how small your business, as equally important and consequential. That is the hallmark of genuine integrity on the part of a vendor or service provider, and also the secret to consistent commercial success. These folks have managed to do this for 45 years. It is ingrained in their DNA. They do it naturally, without prompting, without ceremony. They treat everyone who comes to them with courtesy and attention, as we all deserve.

Service integrity evolves from clear-eyed moral and inspired leadership. The company was the creation of Vance Lannaman and Ainsley Morris, and we had the privilege to know and work with them before Seafreight Line was born.

GOOD SUPPORT

Their good work was, in those days, supported by a young and motivated marketing executive called Harry Maragh, who, ultimately, bought the company upon the retirement of the founders and carried on the fine tradition of the founders. It is no accident that the succession relied on a marketing executive for its subsequent leadership, growth, and profitability. Those who deal with the clients are more often the ones who best understand their needs, and the business strategy is consequently customer-directed.

We feel fortunate to have worked with the fine people of Lannaman and Morris for the past 25 years. They justly deserve our praise, gratitude, and congratulations on this auspicious occasion. We hope that they will continue to set new and higher standards of service in our industry in the coming years and wish them every success. ROLAND MALINS-SMITH Seafreight Line Ltd
