Romain Virgo thrills at Appleton Signature Nights
GREAT VIBE was in ample supply as the ‘Love Doctor’, Romain Virgo, proved his stardom, and then some, at Appleton Estate Signature Nights at Kaluga Kafe in Old Harbour.
Virgo led patrons through his hour-long set as they rocked to the melodious notes belted out by the lover’s rock stalwart, backed by acoustic accompaniment from The Unit Band.
Delivering from his arsenal of original hits and reggae covers, Virgo kept the audience
enthralled, complete with dance moves to boot. In an ode to Buju Banton, he delivered an upbeat performance of Wanna be Loved, which elicited cheers from the audience.
The highlight of the night, however, was Virgo’s powerful acapella rendition of When a Woman Loves, which held the audience captive.
During his performance, Virgo invited Vikings Production artiste Loyal Flames to the stage, whose high-energy performance also found favour with patrons with his delivery of, One More Time and Working.
Tamika West, marketing manager, J Wray and Nephew Limited, spoke of Virgo’s performance, saying he “delivered a truly epic performance for the third stop of Appleton Estate Signature Nights. The audience was completely enthralled and thoroughly enjoyed the show. We had patrons coming in from Mandeville and Kingston for his performance and they were not left disappointed. We are thrilled to provide patrons with this memorable experience as they sip responsibly and enjoy our Signature X-Ale cocktail.”
Appleton Estate will continue its tour across the island with stops to come in Kingston, Montego Bay, Negril and Ocho Rios. The next staging of Appleton Estate Signature Nights will be held on Thursday, July 27, at Montego Bay’s Pier One, featuring a live performance by Tanya Stephens.
