Continue to grow from strength to strength

THE MANUFACTURING industry is central to the development of our country and as such, the Government views it as a major target area to stimulate economic growth and job creation.

I am therefore pleased to see the growth and expansion of ARC Manufacturing Ltd, since it began operations 21 years ago, into one of Jamaica’s leading manufacturer and distributor of building materials.

I applaud the company for demonstrating confidence in the economy by its high level of investment. The staff complement, which has increased from five to over 400, is a significant boost for the labour market, and I am especially pleased to note that most of the employees are residents of the surrounding communities within which the company operates.

For the country to have a vibrant manufacturing sector, the Government must provide an enabling environment that encourages

investment and entrepreneurship. We must facilitate and be a catalyst in the development process by putting in place more efficient and effective regulatory systems for businesses to thrive, and we are committed to making this happen. With the strong business acumen of the management team and commitment and drive of your employees, it is no surprise that your company was awarded the NCB Nation Builders Award in 2016, which recognises small and medium-sized businesses for their outstanding entrepreneurial performance and strong community impact.
