CHASE Fund supports book on Usain Bolt

-

Education Minister Ruel Reid is presented with a copy of ‘Usain Bolt: Legend’ by Gleaner Associate Editor Robert Hart. THE CULTURE, Health, Arts, Sports and Education (CHASE) Fund, as a part of advancing its mission in the development of the sports and arts, is supporting the distribution of a special keepsake publication on the career of superstar athlete Usain Bolt to schools across Jamaica.

The publication, Usain Bolt: Legend, is produced by The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited working with Ian Randle Publishers.

The book, which is now available for preorder, documents Bolt’s unmatched dominance of the sport of track and field and gives intimate insights into his career and life – on and off the track.

The chief executive officer of the CHASE Fund, Billy Heaven, noted that the Fund has a vested interest in the documentation of heritage and history.

“We feel that a comprehensive book on Bolt’s achievements is timely, given his scheduled departure from the world stage,” he said.

“The intention to purchase the book for distribution ... is, for us, a very important element of this project. However, it has the potential for a wider distribution to the diaspora and globally, given the reputation of Bolt as an athlete and ambassador.”

CHASE has been involved in the publication of 82 other interesting books in Jamaica.

Members of the public can now preorder copies of Usain Bolt: Legend through Ian Randle Publishers (sales@ianrandlepublishers.com) and The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited (library@gleanerjm.com). To explore the legend, visit: jamaica-gleaner.com/ublegend
