- Stephanie Lyew Gleaner Writer

WITH THE Emancipendence event diary filled with parties to attend, it makes the decision of where to go a difficult one. But Blu Sky 1’s Utopia ‘Azure’ at Pearly Beach in Ocho Rios, St Ann, was definitely not one to be missed.

Despite the humidity of the summer air, patrons filled the lustrous sands, from one end of the beach to the next. Of course, food and music were the highlights of the exclusive event. With event partners Absolut Vodka, ATL Automotives Limited, Iberostar Hotels and Resorts, Select Brands, Eskay Caterers among other influential companies, the event was guaranteed to be a success.

The Utopia brand maintained its standard as a luxurious all-inclusive event by offering a mouthwatering surf and turf menu, which included choices from tender grilled lobster tail, spicy shrimp pasta and conch soup by Eskay Caterers, as well as barbecue baby back ribs, and jerked chicken served with delectable side dishes prepared by Sheriff Gourmet BBQ.

Before sunset, almost all the tents had been cleared of food, but patrons were not disappointed, as the bars remained fully stocked.

From the bars to the sizeable dance floor in front of the stage, partygoers secured their spots and showed off their best moves. The music had patrons moving non-stop, even those who could not ‘buss’ a move enjoyed the sets provided by DJ Lantern, DJ Karim, among other disc jockeys from Sounds like Chromatic, Renaissance Disco and Bloodline.

International recording artiste Sean Kingston even made a surprise introduction for Renaissance lead man, DJ Delano, as he stepped on the stage to perform of a few hit singles.
