THE YEAR 2017 IS proving to be the year of transformation in the gospel music industry in Jamaica.

With the number of Christian entertainment events around the island constantly on the rise, the Hi-Pro Denbigh Gospel Extravaganza continues to be a well anticipated staple in the yearly line-up of activities for the Denbigh Agricultural, Industrial and Food Show.

Set to take place on Sunday, August 6 at 6:00 p.m., the event will feature a number of heavyweights in gospel music who are on the move in 2017. The show will be produced by pioneers of Christian entertainment, Glory Music, led by Tommy Cowan.

This year, MCs Ity & Fancy Cat will set the tone throughout the night for the Hi-Pro Denbigh Gospel Extravaganza. With Ian ‘Ity’ Ellis proudly confessing his faith since 2016, patrons will not only be fully entertained by one of Jamaica’s favourite comedy duos, but will be encouraged in their faith.

Kevin Downswell, who is taking the summer by storm with his Realignment tour and the recent launch of his music video for his electro-dance track Goodbye World, will be bringing his powerhouse vocals and a fresh message to patrons at the Denbigh showground. ENERGY-FILLED SHOW PROMISED

DJ Nicholas, who was set to launch his album The Audiologist mid-July as a followup to his single Shotta Man, is expected to deliver his usual powerful set, complemented by his incomparable strong voice and onstage energy.

Carlene Davis, who has been touring Toronto, Miami and Orlando over the past month to promote her recent single Jamaica belongs to Jesus, is preparing to bring a message of hope to the 2017 Hi-Pro Denbigh Gospel Extravaganza. In addition, crowd favourite, Rondell Positive, known for his signature fiery voice – is preparing an energetic set to include such hit songs as Purpose and Cover Me.

The Hi-Pro Denbigh Gospel Extravaganza has always served as a platform to introduce fresh gospel talent, with carefully selected opening acts. This year worship leader Anishca Judah, who has a world-class ability to set the tone and spirit of a venue no matter the setting, will be opening the night in worship, while sharing her energetic single Favour. In addition, blind gospel singer Courtney Cooke will be bringing glory to God through his testimony in message and song.

The Hi-Pro Denbigh Gospel Extravaganza will be one of the major highlights of the Denbigh Show weekend. All patrons to the show will have free access to the gospel concert, as there will be no cover charge.
