- Stephanie Lyew Gleaner Writer entertainment@gleanerjm.com

OVER THE past couple of days, persons took to social media broadcasting a video of the,

Earth A Run Red singer, Richie Spice, falling offstage during a performance. The event that the incident occurred was in Sligoville, St Catherine a few days prior to the recording artiste’s departure for his European tour on August 4. However, the artiste and his team are currently in Belgium, just after performing at the Kwaku Summer Festival in Amsterdam, Netherlands, wasting no time paying attention to negative comments of a few on social media.

“Persons use social media for both the positive and the negative, and the positive and the negative always go together,” said Richie Spice.

“I slipped, but I broke my fall, got back up and actually finished the performance,” he said.

While the artiste is unbothered and has recovered from the fall, there is some amount of disappointment that comes with the negative responses, moreover individuals that find the experience amusing.

GOT BACK UP

“It is just interesting that the same medium that mostly shows him falling, never even showed videos of him getting back up,” said his manager, Sean Irving.

It’s so fitting that the tour that is slated to continue for seven weeks has been named the ‘Healing Tour’, throughout which, Richie Spice will be promoting his album titled The Album.

The artiste expressed his satisfaction with the excellent feedback in particular that is received from the singles Where

There’s a Will, No Leave Me, and With You - which Richie Spice says are three of the tracks that have become fan favourites during his travels.

“The album is different from all the others as I believe I have matured in the way I perform, in the lyrics as well as the vocals. In addition, lots more production work went into creating The Album,” said Richie Spice.

Richie Spice will be heading to the United Kingdom for the Boom Town Fair (a four-day event that runs from August 10-13) that lists other Jamaica’s reggae greats, Toots and the Maytals and Ziggy Marley as part of the 2017 line-up.

“More life and blessings to the fans that reached out and showed concern for Richie.” said Richie Spice.
