and a 6-0 victory, despite the score of the game when the skill is performed.
Phileman Haughton, on holidays from the United States, lit up the afternoon for spectators at last Sunday’s round of the Top Notch Blocks Summer Football league, scoring a hat-trick to power Generation United to a 4-1 win over Old England. Manager/player Bruce Chambers was also on the scorecard, following up his strike in his team’s 2-0 win against Cedar Grove the previous week.
Generation’s performance took them to the quarter-finals ,but also
matched that of the unbeaten leaders and competition favourites Pro Harware, who had recorded a similar win against Old England.
The spotlight switches back to Pro Hardware, who chase a sixth straight win in their match-up against Madrid. Belair Boys will also play Epping Forest.
All matches in the league are played at the Sunset playfield in Knock Patrick, Mandeville.
The quarter-final stage begins today in the Georges Valley Corner league with two games at the deCarteret College ground.
At 1:30 p.m., the Zone I winners Red Square take on Belair Boys. The second game of the afternoon sees Central United One up against Quest Security.
The second set of quarter final games will be played tomorrow also at the deCarteret College ground. At 1:30, Villa takes on Central United Two and at 4 p.m., New Hall clash with Samacan Youths.
Earlier on Tuesday, Samacan Youths and Belair Boys snatched the last two quarterfinal berths. Samacan Youth humbled the Samacan Masters 3-1 to advance from the preliminary Zone Three along with Quest Security. Belair Boys knocked out Belitiro 2-1 to join Central Two from Zone Four.
