LASCO iDrade Cage champions to be crowned tomorrow

-

The LASCO iDrade Cage Football Challenge 2017 makes its final stop in Kingston and St Andrew tomorrow at Mandela Park in Half-Way-Tree at 2 p.m. After four weeks of intense competition and incredible displays of individual skills, the winner will finally be crowned.

Machel Wilson emerged the Western Jamaica Champion of the LASCO iDrade Cage Football Challenge when the competition kicked off on Saturday, July 15. Since then Kevan Levy has won the Kingston region, Raymond Thompson the Portmore region, Taj Coley the Santa Cruz region and Rasheed Bald the Port Antonio Region, to all advance to the grand showdown.

They will be joined by the losing regional finalists and the third place finishers so that a total of 16 players will vie for the top prize of $50,000 and a years’ supply of LASCO iDrade.

The final day of competition will see the 16 players drawn into four zones of four with the top two players from each zone advancing to the quarter-final round. From the quarter-final round the top four players will move to the semi-finals before the two winners move on to the grand finale. There will also be a third place match.

The iDrade Cage Football is a ONE vs ONE knockout football challenge played in the confines of a steel mesh cage. The first player to score five or more goals within a three minutes regulation period advances to the next round. A clean through the leg move or what we call a ‘salad’ or ‘nutmeg’ is recorded as an instant knockout
