Treverton Buckle: God is working it out
“BUT THEY that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.”– Isaiah 40:31.
Diagnosed with kidney failure at the age of 14, Treverton Buckle was left to consume a total of 22 tablets on a daily basis.
It was two years later, when he decided to give his life to Christ that, according to him, his healing process began.
Still having had to take a score and two pills per day, Buckle told Family and Religion that he grew extremely frustrated.
“I was on the pills, but my entire body was still swollen. I went to my pastor one day and told him that I am tired of it all. I went home and I stepped on all the pills, destroying them. But at that time I didn’t realise that healing does not come by force, it comes by faith,” he said, adding that he had to replace the medications the following day.
Buckle went back to his pastor, who laid his hands on him and advised him to bless the pills and pronounce healing whenever he was about to take them.
“After this, I began to extend my faith and believe in my eventual healing. I began to realise that each time I had an appointment, the doctor would reduce my medication until I was down to taking one and a half pills. My total healing came when I was 19 years old, even before I was fully off the medication,” he testified.
The now 27-year-old man of God is using his health and healing as a testimony to others, encouraging them of the beauty of long-suffering, faith and faithfulness.
“I just want to tell others to hold on and be strong because God is able to do it, whatever it is that you are praying for. Always remember that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning and that God’s will for us is to prosper and be of good health,” he said.
