Moshood’s African pride at COJO’s Summer Soirée

- Kimberly Goodall LIFESTYLE WRITER

ASUMMER soirée with the Children of Jamaica Outreach (COJO) would not have been the same without the unique touch of New York-based, Afrocentric designer – Moshood. His African-inspired designs showcased fabulous designs, embracing the boldness in women and men’s fashion.

His name, which means African spirit, has become synonymous with a style that personifies the ‘spirit’ of African pride. Arriving to make his mark in New York in the early 1980s, Moshood operates his flagship boutique in Brooklyn,

New York. His timeless pieces brings together the traditional beauty of African tailoring, with a taste of western flavour.

This added a perfect touch to COJO’s evening of fashion, food, family and fundraising. Just as Moshood’s fluid and elegant designs have been embraced from Harlem to Soweto, Lagos to Bahia, London to Tokyo, and New York to Kingston, so was it on July 22.

Appealing to a wide cross section of clients looking to make a statement and stand out in the crowd, Moshood sparked an interest among patrons.

Committed to the partnership between himself and COJO, Moshood continues to support the organisation as he firmly believes in the mission and vision of enhancing the quality of life for underserved children in Jamaica.

“Any effort to positively impact children, our future, is worthy of support and we are always thrilled to be part of the organisation’s summer fundraising event,” he told Outlook.
