Miss Jamaica World (MJW) pageant has caught the attention of internationally acclaimed shoe design and fashion house – The Charles Whittington Collection.
MISS JAMAICA World (MJW) pageant has caught the attention of internationally acclaimed shoe design and fashion house – The Charles Whittington Collection (CWC).
A deal was recently made between the franchise holder of MJW 2017 – Maurice Haughton James and the design house – for CWC to become the official shoe sponsor for this year’s pageant.
Founder, designer and inventor of Van Charles Inc and its subsidiaries (The Charles Whittington Collection, Jah Rock, Pro FX Sports, Jah Rastafari, Electric Religion, No Equal, Discover Visor Inc), Whittington has had the distinction of being recognised in the United States for his many accomplishments. He has been bestowed with several awards and honours,
namely, Designer of the Year presented to him by President George W. Bush, Best Sneaker Design, and The Congressional Order of Merit.
The 2017 MJW contestants will be the centre of high fashion, public attention and envy when they rock the runaway on coronation night, Saturday, September 23 with their Charles Whittington Collection signature line of shoes – The Double Heel Stiletto.
The Double Stiletto shoe was created for fashionable women and is more wearer-friendly than traditional stiletto. This shoe design features two stilettos that allow for better balance and stability for the wearer. The Double Stiletto facilitates the wearer’s weight to be more evenly distributed and yield a comfortable feel, which allows fashion-conscious women to wear this shoe for longer periods without the discomfort of the standard stiletto.

Under the sponsorship agreement, whoever is crowned queen for 2017 will be outfitted with several pieces of clothing from CWC’s fashion line, accompanied by jewellry pieces and accessories, and shoes as part of her wardrobe to Miss World Finals.
The grand coronation is slated to take place on September 23, at a venue to be announced.
