The opportunities provided for individuals to obtain low-interest loans and to be able to save in various instruments have been empowering and lifetransforming for many of the people of the parish. The service you provide has indeed helped in placing many of your members on the path to their socioeconomic progress.

Helping others means caring about their problems and caring about their well-being. The credit union as a community development organisation is to be commended for its role in transforming entrepreneurial ideas into businesses; subsistence farmers into commercial enterprise owners, and educational yearnings into successes.

Commendable, too, is the role played by being good corporate citizens through the support you give to basic schools, youth clubs, youth sport competitions, and in developing leaders across the parish.

The growth and stability experienced by the St Elizabeth Co-operative Credit Union Limited has made it an example of a place of choice to do business as the nation grows towards Vision 2030.

I encourage you to continue serving with integrity and passion. The unyielding vision of Stanford Birthwright, Trevor Myers and several of the other foundational members is today revealing its true purpose.
