Historically, credit unions have survived harsh economic periods, providing financial security for its members while advancing the country’s economic development.
The Government is moving to implement regulatory policies to strengthen credit unions, while ensuring that the nature of the co-operative movement is not undermined. Over the years, credit unions have served the people of Jamaica well and will continue to do so for many more years to come.
