45 years of excellent service

THE ST Elizabeth Municipal Corporation takes great pleasure in extending heartiest congratulations to the St Elizabeth Co-operative Credit Union on the significant milestone of celebrating 45 years of excellent service to the people of St Elizabeth.

Established in the early 1970s, the credit union has been providing opportunities for members to save in various instruments for more than 44 years.

The institution, as is its mission, also provides loans to its members at the lowest possible rates. The credit union is operated for the mutual benefit of its members.

The capital funds of the credit union comes from the members,who provide the capital by the purchase of shares and normally receive annual dividend on those shares on the basis of their investment. Additionally, the institution has grown from assets of $300,000 in 1981 to an asset base of more than $2.1 billion in 2016.

The St Elizabeth-based financial institution has emerged as a leading service provider in the parish. With these many achievements, I applaud the credit union for their positive impact on the parish and to nation building.
