‘JC, Clarendon College picking on ‘Trinity’ – Anderson
HOLY TRINITY’S coach, Devon ‘Pablo’ Anderson, said that traditional schools Jamaica College and Clarendon College have been picking on his school by regularly recruiting their key players.
Despite that, Holy Trinity, who finished third in last year’s Manning Cup and earned the number-one seeding in the new second-round format, continue to do well in the competition.
“Our central midfielder , Shamar Farmar, was taken from us by Clarendon College during a training camp. Another player, Jabari Howell, we had a little difference with, and he is now at JC sitting out for next year,” Anderson told The Gleaner.
“Howell is one of our better midfielders who was in the national youth programme. He is also a member of Harbour View’s Premier League squad,” the coach added.
“Since I have been at Holy Trinity from 2012, we lost four other players to Clarendon (College), including Joel Sterling and Chevon Brown. It seems like Clarendon College is making it their point of duty in picking on us.”
Looking back, the coach pointed out that Nicholas Scott spent one year at Holy Trinity then went to JC, where he was a key member of the 2010 team.
After losing to JC 2-0 in the inaugural 2014 FLOW Super Cup final, Ronaldo Brown, who played for ‘Trinity’, went to JC the next year. Brown played on JC’s winning Manning Cup teams in 2015 and 2016.

Then two years ago, Tevin Rochester left Holy Trinity and is now playing for JC.
“It has been going on for a while, even before my time. But, since I have been here (Holy Trinity), JC have taken Brown (Ronaldo), plus Nicholas Scott was here for one year. I am disappointed, but, I am a builder.”
Anderson also said he calls the shots at Holy Trinity, and because of that, he has no intention of leaving to coach another school.
