Educatours, a two-year-old brainchild of two best friends, Kadeem Petgrave and Simier Lansend, is an educational tour company that provides practical learning experiences through gamified and team-building exercises.
We all know of the talk that history is boring, no matter how important it is. But at Educatours they are on a mission to make learning fun, especially through technology.
“We have replaced traditional methods like ‘chalk & talk’ and ‘fact dropping’ with technology and gamification, by integrating smartphones and play into our tours,” Petgrave said.
SOCIAL MISSION
Educatours is not simply a business. In fact, it is a social enterprise earnestly working to remedy the ills of the society. Their aim is to generate significant and a positive impact in Jamaica.
“We solve social issues in society,” co-founder Simier Lansend told Flair.
Indeed, Jamaica is a beautiful country. We love this nation, but truly, our loyalty could be even greater. This is why Educatours is unwavering in its pursuit to revive civil pride, an appreciation of Jamaica’s heritage, an attachment to Jamaica and a sense of purpose among youths.
“One of the main objectives of our company is to educate. We educate, employ and include youths, thus empowering them,” Lansend explained.
At Educatours, no one is excluded. Everyone is a priority.
