CSA’s 47th Annual General Meeting a resounding success

-

THE CARIBBEAN Shipping Association’s (CSA) 47th Annual General Meeting, Conference and Exhibition, which was held in Bridgetown, Barbados, from October 9-11, ended on a high note with featured presentations from all sectors of the shipping industry.

The conference, which was attended by more than 350 delegates, was hosted by the Shipping Association of Barbados and the Barbados Port Inc, which facilitated the thought-provoking, stimulating presentations by speakers from across the world.

The leadership of the Caribbean Shipping Association was retained for another year by unanimous vote, returning David Jean Marie as president and Juan Carlos Croston as vicepresident.

The hosts also showcased Barbados’ culture in a series of events at venues, including the exclusive Ilaro Court, the grounds of the prime minister of Barbados. Delegates’ spouses were treated to a series of well-planned activities which took them to locations across the island. The culminating activity, the Diamond Gala, featured the announcement of the prestigious Port Awards. The breathtaking room was only surpassed in its beauty by the generosity of the members who raised more than US$100,000 in pledges to assist the countries which have been ravaged by the passage of multiple hurricanes in the 2017 season.

The CSA’s 2018 Annual General Meeting, Conference and Exhibition will be held in Panama.
