Coach West eyes series win
COACH GRAEME West is confident that West Indies A can win the third and final Test against Sri Lanka A at Sabina Park and claim the series.
The three-match series is locked at 1-1 with the teams sharing the first two matches at the Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium.
“It should be a very interesting game,’’ said Englishman West, following the team’s raininterrupted final training session yesterday.
‘’We’ve got to learn from the mistakes that we made in the second game and try to go back to the methods that we employed in the first game that worked very well,” he added.
‘’We got out in the first innings trying to defend and we went out in the second trying to be very positive,’’ West said of the defeat. “We’ve got to do much better in defence in this game and more measured in attack, particularly to their leftarm spinner (Malinda Pushpakumara), who took most of the wickets.’’
Pushpakumara, who opened the bowling in the Sri Lankans second innings, ended with figures of six for 52 and six for 46 in the second match which the West Indies A lost.

Added West:’’I don’t doubt that the guys are good enough to win the match and series. However, what they have to prove now is to prove that when it comes down to a deciding game like this you turn up and perform.’’
West Indies A, in their triumph in the first match, were led in their batting by Sunil Ambris, who stroked 106 and Vishual Singh with 81.
Man of the Match, leg-spinner Damion Jacobs, took six for 27 and two for 33, while fast bowlers Keon Joseph (three for 33) and Sheldon Cottrell, (three for 69) were also among the wickets.
