- Fay Wint Contributor

TIRED OF your home looking the same year after year but don’t have enough funds to make major changes? There are some quick and easy changes you can make that will rev up your rooms’ décor, some costing not very much or even nothing. Here are some changes you might want to try:

Assess your rooms and do exchanges of items between rooms. This may include furniture pieces and/or art and other accessories.

You would be amazed at how different a chair or painting can look in a different location.

Repurpose - Use things you already have in a different way.

For example, a stool or small desk as a night or side table, topped with the right accessories.

This can add drama to a neglected corner.

Paint a single wall or a single chair. Paint is still

a very cost-effective way to make a major impact on any room.

Add tiles to a backsplash area in the kitchen, or create a mural wall using tiles.

There are some very graphic ones available now, or you could simulate a rustic stone look with others.

IWall-papering a single wall can result in an impressive backdrop in any room. No need for all the flowers. There are very contemporary designs on the market. Use instructions on the internet to help you install.

Install simple floating shelves and create interesting vignettes on these.

Create an interesting display on your coffee table using a variety of collectibles, for example, jars, books, candles, etc.

IIIMake a display on different levels for better visual effect. Change this display regularly and, especially, seasonally. However, avoid overcrowding.

Don’t just stick your children’s artwork on the refrigerator. Frame them and use on your walls.

This not just helps in boosting self-esteem, but also makes interesting conversation pieces.

Purchase or have slipcovers made for your sofa or chairs. Use these to make dramatic

IIchanges every few months.

Cushions can really make a difference to the style and feel of a room.

Make covers with different colours, textures, and patterns and see the impact these can have.

Add mouldings to a room for a bit of architectural interest.

Change pulls and handles on cupboard doors for a more updated look. You could also repaint cupboards.
