party for a Florida trade exhibition to be held at the Mona Rehabilita­tion Centre from November 12 to 18, 1972, arrives at the Palisadoes Airport. Coming to assist in preparatio­ns for the exhibition are Sandor Marshall, chairman of the Trade Developmen­t Committee of the Internatio­nal Centre of Miami, and Richard Lankenau, coordinato­r for internatio­nal trade, State of Florida, Department of Commerce. Seaga is sworn in as the new prime minister of Jamaica in a ceremony at King’s House at which Governor General Florizel Glasspole officiates. Seaga immediatel­y announces his intention to appoint Hugh Shearer as deputy prime minister, as well as his own appointmen­t as minister of finance. Seaga also announces that he has invited Glasspole to continue in his capacity as governor general, and that Glasspole accepts. 1995:order An atmosphere of

greets hundreds of Blaise depositors as they come forward to collect their promised first tranche of money. Asgar Ally, the executive chairman of the newly merged Blaise entities, Financial Institutio­n Services, says the former Blaise offices in Kingston, Mandeville, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay will be open for two weeks to facilitate islandwide payments. Ally says 160 depositors are paid at the Kingston office, and checks with the other offices across the island confirm that the flow is similar to that in Kingston.
