JPS loses more talent to Intren
AMERICAN UTILITY provider Intren Limited has attracted more talent from Jamaica Public Service Company Limited.
In October, Keith Garvey joined the US-based utility headed by former JPS boss Kelly Tomblin. He was JPS’s vicepresident in charge customer service and communications at departure from the power utility.
“Keith brings more than 20 years of leadership and industry experience coupled with a commitment to the type of culture that has defined Intren over the years. I am confident Keith will add to the operating expertise and customer commitment that will always serve as our foundation as we continue to grow and evolve,” said Intren CEO Tomblin in a notice posted on the company’s website.
Tomblin joined Intren in July after serving for five years at JPS.
Winsome Callum, director of communications and customer experience at JPS, said a replacement for Garvey would be announced this week. She added that no other departures are on the cards as far as she could tell.
Garvey joined Intren as regional vice-president of business development, East Coast. His portfolio spans Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, Washington DC and New York.
At JPS, as VP of customer service and communications, Garvey was responsible for several of the company’s unique customers’ solutions, including the prepaid services programme, according to Intren.
Garvey holds a master’s degree in business administration from Nova Southeastern University, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the College of Arts, Science and Technology in Jamaica, now known as UTech.
