Spices up RESTAURANT WEEK MARKET PLACE
LAST SUNDAY, the RJRGLEANER Communications Group’s Restaurant Week Pop Up team took to the streets with Restaurant Week Ambassador Sharmica Holness on the hunt for the ultimate dining experience. On the quest for something savoury, we stumbled upon Usain Bolt’s Tracks and Records at Market Place and decided to check out what they had to offer for this year’s Restaurant Week. Upon entering, we were met with an aromatic blend of Caribbean spices and the sound of sizzling entrées heading towards their desired tables. The intricate beat of pop culture music hummed in the background while persons laughed in merriment over dinner. “I love that the music is not too loud and we can have a conversation without shouting,” said Holness after being speedily seated to her table. Usain Bolt’s
Tracks and Records has a plethora of world-class dishes on their Restaurant Week menu that made deciding very hard for Holness. Eventually, she chose the Jerk Chicken Spring Rolls appetiser, which consists of jerked chicken, roast corn salsa, Scotch bonnet and pepper Jack cheese in a crispy wrap, served with creamy cilantro dipping sauce. This was followed by their signature BBQ
Pork Ribs entrée and their velvety smooth Guinness Cookie & Cream Cheesecake for dessert.
“The spring rolls had an astounding burst of flavour, and the cilantro dip really carried it off. I am absolutely in love with this,” said Sharmica as she indulged in the rolls. She also raved about the unique essence of Guinness with hints of cookie and cream
convoluted within each bite of the cake.
“Tracks and Records really has me with this one,” said Holness.
Being the Jack of all trades she is, Holness was able to help the pop-up team by handing out prices to a few lucky winners while dining. Persons were elated to participate in the trivia quizzes in order to win bottles of wine and gifts courtesy of The Gleaner.
