Goal-hungry Moulton stars west Kgn derby
FOLLOWING HIS brace against rivals Boys’ Town in their Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) game at Barbican, Tivoli Gardens attacker André Moulton said that he is hungry, more comfortable, and looking to score as many goals as possible this season.
Moulton netted in the 32nd and 90th minutes, after Colorado Murray opened the scoring after eight minutes, while Junior McGregor (89th) got the other goal.
The former Arnett Gardens and Santos midfielder, whose regular position is attacking midfield, was employed up front in the absence of last season’s top scorers, Jermaine ‘Teddy’ Johnson and Elton Thompson, and the striker was overjoyed to get his first goals for the club.
NOW GETTING GOALS
“At the start of the season, we were not getting a lot of goals, but now the team is getting goals and Colorado Murray has scored four so far and he’s the leading scorer for us this season. Today, I got my first goals from a couple games, but I have to work on it some more because training is where you get the max and that is the key.
“But I am hungry right now. I feel more comfortable because I scored,” he continued. “Coach has been at me right through, and now that I have scored, I am more into my own, so I am hungry to score more, and the aim is to score goals – as many as possible,” he said.
The game was only eight minutes old when Murray surprised the hosts, who fell further behind on 32 minutes when Moulton got his first of the afternoon. Tarrique Campbell pulled a goal back for the home
team on 57 minutes. But late goals from McGregor and Moulton’s second on 90 minutes sealed the win, before Garfield
Gillespie pulled another one back five minutes into added time.
“I feel elated because coach has been pushing me in training to see how I can fit in the right way. Today, he put me at forward and I got two goals, and I am grateful for it. But I am more comfortable there, as I am getting off shots, and as you see, I got off six shots today and scored two, so that is good,” he said.
The win carried the west Kingston team to 18 points, one adrift of Arnett (19), and level on points with UWI and Portmore United.
