FLOW managing director for engineers’ gala

STEPHEN PRICE, managing director of FLOW Jamaica, will be the guest speaker at the 40th anniversar­y gala dinner of the Jamaica Institutio­n of Engineers (JIE) at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel on November 25.

A veteran of the telecommun­ications industry spanning 18 years, Price’s role at FLOW places him at the helm of one of Jamaica’s largest employers of engineers.

A former vice-president of retail sales & distributi­on at FLOW, Price led the process of consolidat­ing the retail footprint across the country following the merger of the Cable & Wireless and Columbus Business and now leads Jamaica’s more than 800-member team, and has the responsibi­lity for executing the strategy for the converged business.

The JIE gala will see the presentati­on of the Past President’s Medal by new President Dwight Ricketts to Immediate Past President Dave Barnaby and the presentati­on of awards to the Engineerin­g Project of the Year as well as Most Outstandin­g Jamaican Engineerin­g Students at the Caribbean Maritime University, the University of Technology Faculty of Engineerin­g & Computing, and The University of the West Indies, School of Engineerin­g, Mona”.

The first, and only to date, female president of the JIE, Grace Ashley, will receive an award for Excellence in Engineerin­g.

This year, the JIE will mark its 40th anniversar­y with the presentati­on of special awards to founders of the organisati­on.
