Timeforarms slams rivals
TRAINER FITZROY Glispie’s oldstager, TIMEFORARMS, yesterday used his back class and recent overnight allowance form to predictably trample $850,000 claimers at a mile, closing a two-timer for apprentice Anthony Thomas.
Undaunted by his failure to last home aboard Glispie’s PAKMAN in the fifth event, Thomas returned to land the seventh with BARS OF GOLD before expertly handling TIMEFORARMS in the closing event.
Not the sharpest away in the 12-horse line-up, eight-year-old TIMEFORARMS made up ground along the rail down the backstretch while JAMAI RAJA, MEMORY OF TS, and MR AMBASSADOR disputed the lead.

Thomas kept the ageing warrior glued to the rail and he started laying out leaving the three, showing his class to leap past rivals in one sweeping move.
The eight-year-old came off the turn full of running and quickly dismissed the leaders, leaving DILIGENT, who took the outside route, to pick up the chase.
That, however, was in vain. TIMEFORARMS’ overnight allowance experience kept him powering in front to a three and three-quarter length victory ahead of SECRET TRAVELER, who closed well to relegate DILIGENT.
CHENBUCKCHEN, a 12-1 outsider in the fourth, coupled with losing favourites, RUBY ROSE and PAKMAN, forced carry-overs in the single-winner Pick4 and Pick9.
The Pick4 carry-over to Tuesday’s Boxing Day meet stands at $1.5m whereas the Pick9 is at $1.15m.
