Tami Williams scores Chanel, US Vogue record
CHRISTMAS HAS arrived early for the Jamaica-based Saint International Model Agency and its reigning supermodel – Tami Williams.
Just two weeks ago, the 19-year-old global superstar celebrated her 12th (a record for any Caribbean model) appearance for power brand Chanel. The brand’s legendary designer, Karl Lagerfeld, returned to his roots in his hometown of Hamburg, Germany, to showcase his Metiers D’Art, and Williams was flown in as a part of the highly selective cast of top models for the exclusive presentation which unveiled at the new and exquisite Elbphilharmonie.
This was Chanel’s 16th Metiers D’Art Show, which celebrates the relationship between the house and its artisan partners who provide lace, embroidery work and more to the brand’s world-class creations.
Williams was the only model from the English-speaking Caribbean to be walking the high-profile and historic runway.
RECORD 10 APPEARANCES
As she sashayed down the Chanel runway, the Jamaican beauty graced the pages of the December 2017 issue of American Vogue in yet another high-style editorial by the epic stylist, Grace Coddington (now former creative director). The editorial was shot by prolific fashion lens man Steven Klein. Williams has now appeared a record 10 times in the fashion bible (a record for a Jamaica-born model).
Tami’s history-making career has been carefully designed by her Jamaican agent, Deiwght Peters (who has been endorsed and featured in American Vogue, Italian Vogue, New York Times, H & M Magazine and France’s Le Monde newspaper).
Williams is also the only Caribbean model to appear twice on the cover of French Elle Magazine. She has appeared in multiple global advertising campaigns for Valentino, Gucci, and Top Shop. She was also the face of Calvin Klein Collections global campaign.
Tami’s runway résumé demonstrates her epic global standing, as she has walked prêt-à-porter and/or couture collections for the best designers in the fashion world, including Versace, Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Valentino, Balmain, Chanel, Pucci, Gucci, Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen, Maison Martin Margiela, Hermes, and many more.
