Price defends ‘old’ Boys’ Town
BOYS’ TOWN coach Andrew Price insists that the team is not too reliant on veteran players. This after the Trench Town club had at least five starters over the age of 30 in their Red Stripe Premier League game against Montego Bay United at Barbican yesterday, which ended 0-0.
Price’s starting team included veterans such as Shaun McKoy, Daemeon Benjamin, Xavian Virgo, Michael Campbell and Jermaine 'Tuffy' Anderson, who made his debut for the club. On the bench were young, exciting prospects such as Camperdown’s Shaquille Bradford, Denham Town’s Jermain Lyon, Bebeto McDonald, and Javannie Campbell.
But despite the team’s struggles and an apparent over-reliance of veteran players. Price insists its about striking the right balance.

With the third and final round of matches set to begin on Sunday, Price believes it is going to take a super effort and more efficiency in front of goal to lift them from the foot of the table and out of relegation.
He was also left impressed with the debut of former Waterhouse striker Anderson, who played 77 minutes for the ‘Red Brigade’.
“It was good. I didn’t know he would have lasted so long and he was a real menace to the MoBay defenders throughout. He got off a few good shots, and with more playing time and fitness, he will improve,” Price said.
In a lacklustre affair, both teams struggled to create chances. Although the game improved in the second-half, the chances were few and far in between, with Boys’ Town wasting the better opportunities on goal.
