Convenient banking arrives in Portmore
FIRST GLOBAL Bank (FGB) continues to increase its national footprint with the addition of a full-service branch located in Portmore Pines, St Catherine. This is another in a series of initiatives aimed at providing convenient and inclusive banking solutions to the Jamaican people.
At the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mariame McIntosh Robinson, president and chief executive officer, FGB, said, the objective is to be the best retail and corporate bank in Jamaica with an enviable culture by 2020. She said, part of being the best is offering the best value, convenience, and accessibility to customers.
This new branch offers flexible opening hours. Normal teller operations run from noon to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Customers are also able to do banking transactions from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Video Teller Machine (VTM) and Intelligent Deposit ATM. FGB’s VTMs allow customers to interact with a live teller at the machine.
“We have been on a path of network expansion, and in 2018 intend to double the present number of physical touchpoints to connect with customers in all parishes,” Robinson said.
First Global Bank is a whollyowned subsidiary of GraceKennedy. Over the years, FGB has developed a reputation of redefining the banking experience through its commitment to technology and a high standard of customer service delivery.
FGB has eight branches islandwide in New Kingston, Manor Park, Liguanea, Duke and Harbour Streets, Montego Bay, Mandeville, Ocho Rios and most recently Portmore Pines. The bank provides a best-in-class mobile banking application, FGB Mobile, improving customer experience and accessibility. Its mini-branches, First Global MoneyLink, are located inside GraceKennedy Money Services locations in State Mall, Cross Roads and Beadle Plaza, Santa Cruz.
“We have embarked on a strategy of financial inclusion across the GraceKennedy Financial Group with an intention of providing useful and affordable financial products and services, especially through First Global MoneyLink, our chain of mini-branches located inside other frequented locations such as GraceKennedy Money Services locations,” Robinson said.
This new location inside HiLo’s recently-renovated Portmore Pines store is aligned with an integrated retail strategy being utilised across the GraceKennedy Group, designed to provide even more value to the loyal customers of GraceKennedy.
