IN SUCH a time where most women are emancipated from the once enslavement of a misogynist society and are now raising the bar, achieving much more than their foremothers could have ever dreamed of owning, life coach and author Crystal Daye is gently encouraging women to not forsake the purpose of God on their lives.

Daye admitted that though successful, some women indeed lack motivation in certain areas.

“... For example, how many women truly desire to find their God-given calling and fulfil His purpose on earth? How many women truly want to serve others to impact lives for God’s glory? I believe many women are motivated by the accolades and gaining worldly success – so it’s about getting likes on social media, driving a nice car, finding a husband, getting many degrees, having babies, growing in career and building million-dollar businesses,” she said.

Though not discrediting the significance of personal achievements, in her second and latest book, Empowered for Such A Time As This – Answer the Call To Live a Life of Obedience and Purpose, the woman of God spoke of the importance of utilising talents to serve others.

“[The book] is a practical guide to help persons understand what it means to live a life of purpose and obedience and it explains how to find our calling in life so we can truly tap into our God-given potential and achieve a successful life God’s way.

“I share tips on using our gifts and talents that we combine with our passions and experiences to share with others, so we can serve others, which ultimately impact the world. This is truly what it means to be empowered – to unleash the power in us so we can make an impact and leave a positive legacy,” she said.

Daye noted that the world has managed to taint how a lady should truly be, and believes that it is about belittling other women to feel good about themselves and acquiring material things to make them feel successful and to compete with men so they can feel powerful.

According to her: “I believe more women of faith, driven by purpose and walking in obedience, need to arise and become bold in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Not so much in words, but through our lives by how we carry ourselves, how we treat others, how we use our mess and turn into a message and how we serve others with our gifts.”

Of values discussed in her book, the motivational speaker listed becoming God-centred over self-centred, Godmotivated over self-motivated and God-confident over selfconfident as important qualities of an empowered woman.

In addition, Daye gave a few steps to becoming an empowered woman.

Among them were putting God first; using your gifts to serve others and make their lives better; believing in self and your God-given dreams; radiating godly beauty: a beauty that comes from within; complementing men as opposed to competing with them; empowering other women; recognising your calling and positively impacting the world.

Daye’s first book, Living a Royal Reality – Discovering Your Identity, Purpose and Worth in Christ, was released in 2016.

‘I believe more women of faith, driven by purpose and walking in obedience, need to arise and become bold in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Not so much in words, but through our lives by how we carry ourselves, how we treat others, how we use our mess and turn into a message and how we serve others with our gifts.’
