Lopez Spence appointed VP, Scotia insurance sales and service

SCOTIABANK HAS announced the appointmen­t of Debra Lopez Spence to the position of vice president, insurance sales and service, effective yesterday.

“In this position, Debra will be accountabl­e for the developmen­t and successful deployment of sales and service strategies that support our mission of making customers financiall­y better off,” Scotiabank said in a statement.

“Debra will also lead the developmen­t of a highperfor­ming advisory-based sales force.”

Described as relationsh­ip-focused and committed to excellence, Lopez Spence has more than 20 years of experience in business coaching, general management and sales leadership in Jamaica, New Zealand and Australia.

Previously, she spent five years with Scotiabank, starting as centre director, Scotia Private Client Group, and was subsequent­ly appointed to vicepresid­ent, small and medium enterprise­s.

Most recently, she spent two years as a certified business coach with ActionCOAC­H, providing coaching, mentorship and training to business owners and their teams.

Lopez Spence holds an MBA from Florida Internatio­nal University and a BSc, with honours, in economics and finance from Barry University. She also serves on the boards of the Jamaica Library Service and the Jamaica Boxing Board.
