WITH THE anticipation surrounding the cinematic release of American superhero flick, Black Panther, growing each day, Palace Amusement is reporting that tickets for this weekend’s premiere are in high demand.

According to Agaysha Thompson, who works in marketing at Palace Amusement, there is no huge spectacle planned for the official local premiere of the film, but she explained that the absence of a corporate -sponsored ‘ bash’ has not affected interest in the film whatsoever. Thompson revealed that tickets for today’s opening day are completely sold out and expressed that only a few tickets remain available for tomorrow and Sunday. “Only a few tickets are left for Saturday as we speak. We still have quite a few for Sunday, but I k now that will change as the days progress,” she said. “The movie is in high demand, and I’m seeing where we’ve sold tickets for next week already.”

Thompson told The Gleaner that the demand for tickets comes as no surprise, as the movie has been generating quite a buzz for the past few months with interest peaking f ollowing t he US and UK premieres last week.

“It is one of those movies that gets people excited. They want to come out and see it, and they want to see it when the excitement is still at its peak. It’s been buzzing overseas, and we are seeing some of the same excitement here as well.”

She encouraged movie lovers hoping to catch the film this weekend to get their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment if and when the tickets become sold out. The 3D tickets to see the movie cost $1,350 while regular tickets cost $1,050.
