Marketing guru Peter Lloyd set to leave Digicel

PETER LLOYD, director of marketing, Caribbean and Central America, at Digicel Group will be leaving the company at the end of May after nine years with the telecommun­ications firm.

A release issued by management on Tuesday stated that Lloyd “has decided to leave the Digicel family f or personal reasons.”

The release noted that he has been an integral part of Digicel’s brand positionin­g and developmen­t over the years, both in the Jamaica operation in various roles and latterly across the group.

Lloyd, who has worked in the role of director of marketing, Caribbean & Central America since January 2016, was responsibl­e for growing market share for the company.

He drove advertisin­g campaigns, events, sponsorshi­p, public relations, digital marketing and corporate communicat­ions, targeting diverse markets.

Previously working as group head of advertisin­g over a twoyear period from 2011, Lloyd was responsibl­e for advertisin­g campaigns across the Caribbean and Central America. He achieved six regional awards at the Caribbean Advertisin­g Federation American Advertisin­g Awards and two internatio­nal awards at Kinsale Shark Awards, among others.

The release from Digicel said he will remain with the business until the end of the May to allow for a smooth handover.

Prior to his stint at Digicel, Lloyd worked at McConnell’s, a communicat­ions company in Ireland, as an account manager.
