Khago returns in second spot, Etana jumps to five
AFTER FALLING off the Billboard Reggae Albums Char tina mere three weeks, following its muchtalked-up debut close to the listing’s midpoint, Khago’s Walk a Mile has leaped back out of nowhere to claim the number two slot on the chart valid up to Saturday, March 24. That huge move, along with a number one debut in Grateful Dub ( Roots of Creation) and a number three debut in Days Away ( Tunnel Vision), means that many an album has been pushed down – or off – the chart.
Grateful Dub is tabbed as a “reggae infused tribute to the Grateful Dead” and Stephen Marley features on the first track, Fire on the Mountain, along with Marlon Asher. Melvin Seals is the most credited performer, his name appearing on four tracks, including Standing on the Moon.
Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley ’s Stony Hill is one of the many albums which have lost ground this week, but not by much as it has slipped only a place to be at number four this week. Closing off the top five is Etana’s Reggae Forever, which has earned the greatest gainer for the week nod, after clambering its way up from 10th last week.
The Reggae Forever, movement is the opposite of the fate of last week’s number one, A Real Labour of Love (UB40 featuring Ali, Astro and Mickey), which begins the second half of the top 10. I ts number six placing is a striking swoop from last week’s number one debut. Both the number seven and eight sets, the EP Sister Caro and various artistes Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica, respectively, were in the top five last week. Sister Caro was fifth and Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica was fourth.
Box Full of Steel, by The Dubplates, has re-entered the chart at number nine, and SOJA’s Poetry in Motion closes off the listing at number 10.
