ST ANDREW Eastern comprises about 37 communities that have a wide cross section of persons ranging from the very well-off to the less fortunate. During the last 24 months, much progress has been made, and there is still room for so much more.

Roads: We have a major focus on improving the road network, and as a result, several roads have been resurfaced. The Mona Road work was a major project completed last year, and it focused on decongesting the corridor to the University of the West Indies while improving the drainage on Mona Road.

Drains: Across the constituency, drains have been cleared of debris. Many of the drains had not been cleared in several years. Many sidewalks have been repaired and replaced, and street signs have been replaced and restored.

Community centre: The Hampstead Park Community Centre has been renovated and now serves as a vibrant training centre for those interested in entering the BPO industry or in learning how to operate in the digital world.

Parks: We also worked with private sector partners to restore community parks such as the one in Hope Pastures. The facility now has a

IIIIwalking track for citizens to jog, walk, or cycle around and jungle gyms to promote the fitness of our young and older people.

SPORTS

In communities across the constituency, great focus has been placed on the importance of an active lifestyle. To promote sports events such as football, we supported teams from August Town, Standpipe, Tavern, Land Lease, and Mountain View with items such as trophies, gear, footballs, and refreshment. We also supported sports day events at different schools. how to attain the highest level of certification. This is ongoing as we have a goal to assist all the early childhood institutions to get certification.
