ACCORDING TO REPORTS: Dybala set for World Cup spot

-

… Dybala met with Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli in Turin when he was told that he would be called up for the tournament, with the coach reportedly telling the striker that he is confident in his abilities to have a breakout tournament and help the team to the title.

ACCORDING TO reports, Juventus striker Paulo Dybala will get a place in Argentina’s squad to the FIFA World Cup.

The 24-year-old’s place was in doubt, having failed to score a goal in his 12 appearances for his country.

This also comes against the backdrop of a loss in form at the Italian club, where he has also lost his starting spot.

However, reports out of Argentina and Italy state that the much-hyped attacker will pip Inter Milanbound Lautaro Martínez to a spot in the team to Russia.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Dybala met with Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli in

Turin when he was told that he would be called up for the tournament, with the coach reportedly telling the striker that he is confident in his abilities to have a breakout tournament and help the team to the title.

Inter’s Mauro Icardi, on the other hand, is unlikely to join Dybala or Martínez at the World Cup as anticipation grows that Sergio Aguero will be fit. It was earlier reported that Sampaoli told Icardi he would only make the final squad if Aguero was injured.
