HEY, MY yout, I wonder if unnu really know weh unna a do. Unnu no tyad fi dead? For generations unna talk bout how Babylon downpress unnu. Then it was all bout how the ‘big man dem control tings’. Think, my general, think! Who downpressing who now? And who still controlling unnu now?

Unnu downpressing one another, and a ‘big man’ still controlling unno. Unnu no tyad fi dead?

Unnu born and grow inna poverty. Unnu come see sufferation. Unnu watch people beat one another, unnu see the most violent acts, unnu go to bed hungry, unnu see one another suffer in pain ... then unnu same one grow up and tek up gun against unnu brother and sister and young and old and defenceless and helpless. Eventually, dem a go come fi unnu same one. Unnu nuh tyad fi dead, star?

It mek sense to unnu? It really mek sense to go down that road? Fast money, fast living and fast death? Unnu only think dat unnu get big when unnu get big gun and big money. No, my boss, unnu small same way. Small minds, small hearts, small thinking, small conscience, small fingers on small triggers. If unnu waan get big, think big. Grow your minds, grow your ideals, grow your relationships with those around you. Grow together, and stop growing apart. Unnu really nuh tyad fi dead?

Unnu really and truly feel seh unnu a bad man? Any man can think him bad with a big gun inna him hand. What are you without the gun? Ask yourself that question. Fear is the opposite of respect. Which do you want? Who will respect you without your gun? Do you even respect yourself without the gun? I don’t think so. And since unnu must be vulnerable at some point in time, dem gwine get unnu eventually. Unnu no tyad fi dead?

How many of unnu mek it into the golden years of life? Look around you. Unnu see any shotta enjoying retirement in his old age? How many of unnu lose close friends and even relatives to reprisals? Anybody unnu know live to fully enjoy their ill-gotten gains? Any of unnu can live in peace? Don’t unnu always looking around to see who’s coming for unnu? Unnu nuh tyad fi dead?

Unnu really think that lotto scamming, drugs and gang warfare worth it? Are they worth the lives of your loved ones? Are they worth the lives of your relatives and children? Don’t unnu see that it nah go done? Dem a kill off unnu, and unnu a kill dem off, back and forth, on and on. Blood, gore, death. Unnu nuh tyad fi dead?

ENSLAVED AGAIN

Don’t unnu realise that all of unnu are still slaves? The slave masters are now the Yankee dollar, unnu kyar and big bike, unnu 60-inch TV, unnu nuff-nuff bling, unnu stoosh house and unnu big gun. Enslaved again by unnu thoughts and possessions. And in the end, what does it all get unnu? A bling funeral and ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Unnu nuh tyad fi dead?

Real man don’t need a gun to gain respect. Real big man nah go kill off defenceless people and babies. Real man use dem brains for better things. Real man nah go mek money and temporary possessions mek him lose him eternal soul. Real man realise that he’s caught in a deadly spiral that only leads to one thing. Unnu nuh tyad fi dead?

When unnu kill others, unnu only killing unnu selves. Open unnu eyes and see that this killing thing not getting unnu anywhere. Break free of the crime and sufferation and death. Stop it! Unnu nuh tyad fi dead?

‘If unnu waan get big, think big. Grow your minds, grow your ideals, grow your relationships with those around you. Grow together, and stop growing apart.
