Fashionable reminders from Thou Art

BEING INSPIRED requires putting yourself in contact with people, places and things that give you the drive to be the best version of yourself. For Roxanne Rose-Genas, creator of Thou Art jewellery collection, her inspiration came from a series of divine interventions and direct contact with the glory of God. Through Him, she found all things possible and decided to share inspirational Bible verses through trendy yet subtle bracelets.

“I have always been creative at heart. I found joy in producing something with my hands. I learned the art of jewellery making at church and I dabbled with some pieces,” said Genas. She went on to create ‘Be Beaded by Roxii’, which unfortunately ceased operations in 2017.

“The Lord in His infinite glory and wisdom instructed me to halt all production for Be Beaded and not purchase another material. I was dumbfounded as this was my business. I grew this with my sweat and invested much time and money into this,” said Genas as she passionately spoke about her business.

She admitted that she momentarily forgot that he is God and the person that gave her all her gifts. “I realise that if I wasn’t serving the Lord in everything I do, then I would never feel fulfilled. I surrendered everything to him,” she declared. One afternoon while taking a shower she began to sing the hymn ‘it is well with my soul’. “I immediately thought of putting these words on a bracelet as a form of encouragement, and the ideas started pouring in,” said Genas as she explained the birth of ‘Thou Art’.

SYMBOLISM OF THE JEWELLERY

Thou Art is a symbol of encouragement. Thou Art is a symbol of overcoming. Thou Art is a constant reminder that you are not walking alone. Thou Art is ... HOPE.

Thou Art features a series of cuff bracelets and rings that are stamped with scriptural references that provide hope and encouragement. The pieces are made from natural copper and aluminium, which are then hand-stamped and not engraved with a machine. “Each item will have its own personality and feel,” said Genas. Copper was chosen because of the benefits it has to pull toxins from your skin and aid with joint stiffness. The aluminium is lightweight, has a slower tarnish rate and is hypoallergenic.

Thou Art products can be ordered on their website at
