THE JAMAICA Co-operative Credit Union League’s Awards Banquet to celebrate the achievement of credit unions in 2017 was a stellar event held at the Hilton Rose Hall Hotel in Montego Bay on May 18. This was one of the many events to mark the convention and 77th annual general meeting.
Guest speaker at the banquet was Audley Shaw, minister of industry, commerce, agriculture & fisheries, and noted radio broadcaster Dervan Malcolm was the master of ceremony.
The highlight of the banquet was the awards presentation where credit unions that had done creditably in their operations in 2017, based on the PEARLS M system, received recognition.
Four credit unions received the Credit Union of the Year awards in their categories: small, medium-size, large and mega.
Other credit unions received runner-up awards and special awards as follows: I Small Credit Union (runner-up) – BJ Staff
I Medium-size Credit Union (runner-up) – Postal Credit Union I Large Credit Union (runner-up) – Palisadoes Credit Union
I Mega Credit Union (runner-up) – C&WJ Credit Union
INCENTIVE AWARDS
Five incentive awards were also presented to credit unions as follows:
I Highest Asset Growth – NCB Employees Credit Union
I Highest Solvency 2017 – JDF Credit Union
I Highest Net Capital Growth – Portland Credit Union
I Highest Net Loan Growth – Portland Credit Union
I Highest Return on Assets – First Regional Credit Union
The event was organised by the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League, the trade association for credit unions in Jamaica.
